The 2022-2023 cohort will include CSB/SJU students pursuing licensure in high school social studies or world languages, Central Minnesota social studies or world language teachers (grades 8-12), and CSB/SJU faculty. See below for specific eligibility requirements.

  • Interest in and commitment to learning about the intersection of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s languages, politics, history, educational systems, and culture.

  • Currently teaching grades 8-12 world language or social studies in a Central Minnesota school.

  • Able to be in Bosnia and Herzegovina from approximately June 7-July 3.

  • Willing to participate in all pre and post-travel workshops.

  • Willing to participate in a curriculum development team comprised of CSB/SJU preservice teachers and university faculty.

  • Commitment to implementing team-developed curriculum materials in your classroom.

  • Willing to share what you learn with a broader audience of educators.

CSB/SJU Students

  • Currently studying to be a social studies or world languages teacher at CSB/SJU.

  • Will be a junior or senior at CSB/SJU in the fall of 2023.

  • Able to be in Bosnia and Herzegovina from approximately June 7-July 3.

  • Willing to participate in all pre and post-travel workshops.

  • Willing to participate in a curriculum development team comprised of licensed teachers and university faculty.

  • Commitment to supporting the implementation of your team-developed curriculum materials in a secondary classroom.

  • Willing to share what you learn with a broader audience of educators.

FACULTY MEMBERS

In addition to the eligibility criteria listed above, the Fulbright-Hays grants stipulates that all participants must be U.S. citizens, nationals, or permanent residents and studying full-time or employed.
